In this position you will join the DNV’s Energy Markets and Strategy team in Sweden. You will cooperate with team colleagues from Norway, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany. You will advise our clients in the interplay of markets, regulation and technology, and work with financial institutions, utilities, project developers and various energy and climate focused government entities.
You will be a core contributor to strengthening our services for economic analysis of electricity markets. Our main focus is on congestion management, market design and regulatory studies.
In addition, your expertise will support our two other strategic focus areas:
Early phase advice to developers in hydrogen, sustainable fuels and CCS. Our department focuses on location screenings, emission review (LCA) and techno-economic or regulatory feasibility studies
Transaction advice to financiers. Our department focuses on technical and market due diligence, together with market reports and market entry studies

You will have a varied range of tasks in our team. These include creating new opportunities and sales, managing consulting projects for our clients, and providing unique market insights and knowledge to our clients. Within DNV, You will support less experienced team members in their development, provide specialist input from your area of expertise across DNV’s global customer base and DNV’s in-house Energy Transition Outlook research.

As a Junior/medior Consultant Onshore Wind Sweden you will become a part of international Team of Advisors. We are providing technical reports and consulting related to due-diligence, bankability reviews, construction monitoring and other services for onshore wind turbine technologies. DNV does not own assets, but supports banks and investors in their investment decisions.
You will be able to apply your project management and technical skills to a rapidly growing and prospering renewable energy technology consulting field. You will be responsible for providing project deliverables according to high-quality standards of DNV, maintaining Client interactions and providing ongoing support to our Customers.
In your work you will:
Participate in wind projects due diligences: a multi-disciplinary risk assessment of wind farms or portfolios,
Work on various projects at the same time, both desktop work and visiting wind farms;
Prepare, review and consult technical reports;
Support Clients with all project related matters;
Conduct site visits and construction monitoring activities;
Become an expert of wind project in the Nordics and further work on international projects.



To maximize your chances, you need:
To be a Swedish or Finnish speaker

Do you want to join us and help to support the Energy Transition? We are looking for a Technical Consultant with a background in Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Engineering, Power Systems or similar.

Your tasks and responsibilities
As a Technical Consultant, you will contribute to the success of our team by applying your power engineering knowledge to solve the customer’s problem in the most effective way. You will also help identify market opportunities, develop our existing services and establish new services.
You will be working in projects of different sizes, for local as well as international customers. The tools used range from classic calculations to state-of-the-art power system simulation software and instruments for on-site measurements. You are expected to present your results in clear, high-quality reports and contribute to writing commercial proposals.
Unlike other providers of similar services, we perform most of our project work in-house. Embedded in our highly competent team, you will develop your knowledge on today’s and future electric grids and develop new tools and models for power systems analysis.
Finally, you will be given the opportunity and guidance to grow to a more senior consulting roles where you execute, lead and sell projects.

Our projects typically include:
Studies and investigations, e.g. related to:
power system design and analysis,
control and stability of power grids
modeling and simulation of equipment in power grids
integration of (renewable) generation and/or loads
power quality
protection and fault clearance
power electronics modeling, simulation and control

Position Qualifications
We are looking for a Technical Consultant who is an enthusiastic team player and who actively contributes to the success of the team by collaborating to achieve results.
In addition you:
Have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electric Power Engineering, Power Systems or similar. A PhD is preferred but not required.
Have a strong interest in the energy transition and related technologies.
Understand that technical decisions have business consequences and vice versa.
Have the capability to “put yourself in the customer’s shoes”.
Have strong written and spoken English language skills.
In addition: strong command of German is required for our German locations. Good command of the local language is preferred for all other locations (listed below).
Experience with relevant simulation tools is highly appreciated, such as: PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD/EMTDC, and others. For Germany, NEPLAN, Integral and Sincal are very relevant.

As a Senior Consultant Onshore Wind Nordics you will become a part of international Team of Advisors. We are providing technical reports and consulting related to due-diligence, bankability reviews, construction monitoring and other services for onshore wind turbine technologies.

Proven track record of leading & delivering professional services as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the domain of sustainability
Academic qualifications relevant to sustainability subject areas
Proven project and/or team leader, delivering service excellence
Able to clearly delegate tasks and provide sufficient guidance, support and feedback on performance to teams of experts and Consultants, building a high performing team and contributing to the performance across borders in the Nordics
Willingness to travel and work around Sweden and the wider Nordic area and on occasions overseas
