Powerplant Engineer

SAS Technical Operations is a dedicated team of 100 professionals responsible for ensuring the ongoing airworthiness of the SAS fleet. Our work spans a range of essential tasks, from negotiating and managing supplier contracts to engineering and planning maintenance activities. 
Within this structure, our CAMO Engineering team plays a key role in implementing maintenance and regulatory requirements, monitoring fleet reliability, and managing the aircraft maintenance budget of the aircraft and engine types. SAS Engineering department includes 50 members working closely with with the rest of Technical Operations, Flight Operations, Network Planning, Fleet Management, Finance, Aviation Authorities, Suppliers, etc. to deliver on-time and sustainable air travel.  
The Engineering department within CAMO is looking for an experienced and motivated Powerplant Engineer to join this dynamic organization and a highly reputable flag carrier. The right candidate will have the skills and personality to fit within a small, multi skilled team that is responsible for the continuing airworthiness, safety and reliability of the aircraft and components in line with the manufacturer recommendations and the regulatory requirements. In addition, a Poweplant Engineer continuously contributes to improve SAS products and processes with cost saving initiatives to help our service in a complex and demanding environment.  

Challenges you will work on:

 As a member of the Powerplant team, you will work on various engine/APU and nacelle/TR types, including LEAP, TRENT, IAE, XWB, and CF34. The focus is to maintain the Continuing Airworthiness, safety and reliability of engine/APU and its components in line with the manufacturer recommendations and the regulatory requirements. You will work close with all teams in SAS CAMO as well with SAS Part-145 department. Your should possess analytic driven nature and have experience to draw conclusions from data driven facts, you should have experience working in a similar operational environment and will have safety as your top priority, with sound judgement in both technical and financial matters.
As a Powerplant Engineer at SAS, you will be:
* Evaluation of continuing airworthiness and maintenance related tasks. 
* Short- and long-term engine fleet planning. 
* Analyze and monitor Engine Health Monitoring activities. 
* Engine / APU / TR/Nacelle repair management.
* Handling phase-in and phase-out of engines and its components. 
* Administer/ review engine related contract proposals/agreements, warranty claims etc. 
* Ensure effective and timely coordination/implementation of planning and project control functions required for engine related projects. 
* Ownership of a significant maintenance budget, including cost control and forecasting. 


To be successful, we believe you should have: 

* University Bsc/BEng or Msc. degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering.  
* Relevant experience in aviation/airline engineering within Powerplant (aircraft types A320/A330/A350/E190/E195 and/or B737). 
* Minimum of 3 years demonstrative work experience with CAMO Powerplant engineering.  
* Knowledge of EASA Part-M and Part-145 regulations. 
* Skywise experience is advantageous. 
* Excellent communication skills. 
* Fluent in English – both verbally and written. 
* Strong skills in IT systems and tools. 

It is also meritorious if you have direct experience within:
* RR TRENT/XWB Engines  
* AMOS MMIS system

Head of Maintenance Operations

We are recruiting a Head of Maintenance Operations to join our Maintenance Operations department - a team of 38 employees including Maintenance Controllers; Duty Planners with respective Team Leads.

Reporting to the Nominated Postholder Continued Airworthiness, Head of Maintenance Operations will be responsible for overall management of the Maintenance Operation Control, to ensure that all maintenance activities are accomplished strictly as per company procedures and industry best standards. The incumbent will ensure that operations are continuously supported within on a 24/7 basis.

Key Responsibilities

In this role your main areas of responsibilities are the following:

* Maintain overall management and strategic long-term vision of Maintenance Control. Constant focus on process improvement and efficiencies.
* Provide strong leadership for a team of 38 staff.
* Strict financial responsibility of department overheads including overtime.
* Monitor Part 145 organizations and ensure compliance with Company procedures.
* Ensure comprehensive communication on all delay events through OCC to maximize on time dispatch reliability.
* Review and analyze delays, AOGs etc. and carry out root cause analysis.
* Future proof processes to enable development of MOC to support a Single Air Carrier Group.
* Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills

* University degree in Aircraft Engineering mandatory (Master degree preferred) or hold an EASA P66 License for minimum 5 years
* Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience
* Business oriented with budget control experience and demonstrated cost control.  
* Practical experience from leading complex organizations at a strategic and tactical level. (ability to foster teamwork)
* Knowledge of AMOS MMIS and Skywise an advantage
* Sound Aeronautical and Airline background with detailed knowledge of modern aircraft and engine systems are required
* EASA Part CAMO and Ops regulations
* Experience of CAMO Safety management and quality systems

We are looking for a Team & Fleet Manager Embraer (EMB) to join our team in Stockholm. As a part of the SAS CAMO, we are responsible for the airworthiness and economical operation of the airline’. The Team & Fleet Manager will secure airworthy, safe and economical operation of assigned aircraft types by cross- functional control, support, and follow up of all required processes and services internally and externally with authorities, OEM’s, MRO’s, and other suppliers. The Engineering Team & Fleet Manager will act on behalf of the Head of Engineering to ensure that strategic and tactical as well as financial targets are met by adequate and transparent communication required to provide visibility, predictability, and timely deliverables.
Main tasks:
Lead a team of about 7 engineers
Member of Engineering management team
Secure delivery of all Engineering tasks related to continuing airworthiness as defined in CAME within own engineering area of functional responsibilities.
Secure timely management of safety, quality and ARC reports and follow up that appropriate corrective actions are implemented and effective.
Secure that all maintenance data and documentation prepared and followed up by own Engineering Team meets set standards.

Secure internal involvement and focus on relevant maintenance or financial activities/projects/events for designated aircraft fleet or engines/APU (including participation in relevant daily/weekly/monthly planning and/or performance meetings and forums).
Secure that effective processes, procedures, and communication practices are in place to underpin cross functional understanding, communication, and ways of working to achieve set targets for the respective fleets and engines/APU.



Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering
Additional education within aviation management is desirable
Minimum 6 years of CAMO experience within a commercial airline, whereof minimum 3 years in a management position, and 3 years’ experience with Reliability Strategy and Performance
Practical leadership experience
Experience in team leadership and development
Practical experience of managing large contracts with suppliers and internally, with associated budget processes and cost saving programs
Practical experience of business transformations and change management
Practical experience of working with AMOS maintenance system.

Documented experience of working with aircraft maintenance in relation to operation.
In depth knowledge of civil aviation regulation EASA Part M and Part 145
Excellent understanding of the aircraft maintenance processes

We are now looking for Technical Operations Engineers to CAMO and the Maintenance Operation Control team to serve as an CAMO operational Engineering support mainly to Maintenance organizations (P-145), but also act for the best interest of Aircraft operations as part of OCC.

Experience and education
Aircraft Engineering degree or equivalent documented experience suitable for the role.
Aircraft Technician/engineering degree (EASA Part-66 AML on relevant aircraft types).
Experience in TC/OEM holder communication, processes and requirements
Engineering knowledge of aircraft structures and systems
Good knowledge of civil aviation regulation EASA Part M and Part 145
Needed knowledge of EASA Part 21 necessary for the role.
Computer proficiency in general.

Flight Operations Engineer
SAS Scandinavia’s Flight Operations Engineering team consists of Subject Matter Experts covering flight safety critical operational/technical areas such as flight crew documentation, emergency equipment, aircraft performance, navigational data, mass & balance, aerodrome approvals, Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and ACARS/Datalink.

Main Responsibilities
- Maintain airplane operational manuals (e.g. OM-B, FCOM, QRH, MEL) and other technical-operational instructions and information for flight/cabin crew required for the safe, legal and efficient operation of all aircraft
- Support the Performance and Mass & Balance Engineers in performing calculations and ensuring that performance and mass & balance data in FCOM/OM-B and EFB complies with manufacturer data, regulations and company policies.
- Maintain liaison with CAMO, aircraft manufacturers and other operators in technical-operational matters
- Maintain proficiency regarding aircraft systems and operation and applicable rules and regulations as required for assigned tasks
- Answer/Follow up of Pilot and Cabin Reports of a technical-operational nature
- Lead/participate in projects where Flight Ops Engineering competence is required.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferably a minimum of five years of experience in Flight Operations Engineering
- Preferably hold at least a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience within aircraft performance and/or mass and balance engineering
- Thorough knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations, preferably EASA Air Ops
- Proficiency in English (excellent verbal and writing skills) is required and at least one Scandinavian language is advantageous
- Experience from implementing and using lean principles to improve safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness is advantageous
- Current or previous pilot license of any kind is advantageous

SAS Technical Operations
SAS Technical Operations is composed of CAMO accountable for the continuing airworthiness of the SAS fleet including the departments Aircraft Transfer, Contracts, Engineering and Maintenance Planning & Control. It also includes Maintenance Production (Part 145), providing line maintenance services in Scandinavia to SAS and other airlines.

CAMO Senior Payload Engineer
The Engineering department within the CAMO is looking for an experienced and motivated Payload Senior Engineer to join a dynamic organization and a highly reputable flag carrier. The right candidate will have the skills and personality to fit within a small, multi skilled team that is responsible for the continuing airworthiness, safety and reliability of the aircraft and components in line with the manufacturer recommendations and the regulatory requirements. In addition, the Payload Senior Engineer continuously contributes to improve SAS products and processes with cost saving initiatives to help our service in a complex and demanding environment.
As part of the Payload team, you will work on a variety of aircraft types such as A320/A330/A350, B737NG and EMB190/195. Your main responsibilities will be delivery and quality within Payload team. Lead, delegate and prioritize workload. Follow up tasks and workload in the team. Support the Team Leader / Fleet Manager with annual assessment as well as competence development of team members. You will work close with all teams in SAS CAMO as well with SAS Part-145 department. You are analytic driven and have experience to draw conclusions from data driven facts, you should have experience working in a similar operational environment and will have safety as your top priority, with sound judgement in both technical and financial matters.

The focus is to maintain the Continuing Airworthiness, safety and reliability of the aircraft and components in line with the manufacturer recommendations and the regulatory requirements. In addition, the Systems Engineer continuously improves our product and processes with cost saving initiatives to help determine our service in a complex and demanding environment.
Key responsibilities
Provide substantiation data for maintenance program task escalation and de-escalation.
Ensure that Airworthiness Directives are being processed through technical assessment and preparation of Engineering Orders.
Review and recommend incorporation of Service Bulletins to enhance safety, operational performance and reliability in order to gain lower cost during operation.
Support the 145 maintenance organizations, logistics and planning sections.
Ensure the achievement of technical reliability targets.
Carry out occurrence/Incident investigations.
Control the configuration status for the aircraft/components.
Define and ensures the implementation of actions resulting from non-conformance findings as part of Quality Audits, Quality Inspections or Airworthiness Review.
Participate in projects which could be commercial or flight operation oriented, when deemed appropriate.
Interface with OEMs and TC holders.
Compile back to birth data for life limited components.

Education and Experience
University degree or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering.
Relevant experience of aircraft types A320/A330/A350 and E195 is advantageous.
Demonstrative working experience within a CAMO is advantageous.

Main tasks:
· Secure delivery of all Engineering tasks related to continuing airworthiness as defined in CAME within own engineering area of functional responsibility, e.g. Powerplant, etc.
· Secure timely management of safety, quality and ARC reports and follow up that appropriate corrective actions are implemented and effective.

· Secure internal involvement and focus on relevant maintenance or financial activities/projects/events for designated aircraft fleet or engines/APU (including participation in relevant daily/weekly/monthly planning and/or performance meetings and forums).
· Secure that effective processes, procedures and communication practices are in place to underpin cross functional understanding, communication and ways of working to achieve set targets for the respective fleets and engines/APU
· Set break through targets in close collaboration with the rest of the organization to reduce cost and process variance.
· Follow up fleet reliability to secure that appropriate corrective actions are implemented to minimize unscheduled down time on the assigned fleet or engines/APU.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering.
· Additional education within aviation management is highly desirable.

SAS Technical Operations


SAS Technical Operations is a team of 100 people accountable for the continuing airworthiness of the SAS fleet. It performs a wide variety of tasks including negotiating and managing supplier contracts, engineering, and planning maintenance.


Engineering
The Engineering team is responsible for the implementation of all applicable maintenance and authority requirements, monitoring of fleet reliability, and the aircraft maintenance budget. The team comprises 50 people who work closely with the rest of SAS to deliver on time, sustainable air travel.


Powerplant Engineer
We are looking for a Powerplant Engineer to join our team in Stockholm. As a part of the SAS CAMO, we are responsible for the airworthiness and economical operation of the airline’s engines, APUs, and nacelle components.


As a Powerplant Engineer, your main areas of responsibility will be:
- Managing airworthiness and maintenance related tasks
- Short- and long-term engine fleet planning
- Ownership of a significant maintenance budget, including cost control and forecasting


We’d like our Powerplant Engineers to have:
- Either relevant experience in aviation engineering and maintenance or an engineering degree
- Preferably experience from CAMO engineering in an airline
