We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our inspiring and talented team based in Kiruna and Solna. YOUR ROLE

In your role as Software Engineer, you will work in the team that develop and maintain our ground system SW and support set-up of new missions.

You will be involved in both definition and development of new SW and tools as well as maintaining and extending the current system for planning and handling satellite communication and control. You will also aid the project managers in setting up new missions which have customer specific requirements and provide SW support to everyday operations of the control center and antenna systems.

Work outside normal work hours may be needed intermittently, to support launches and LEOPS

YOUR ROLE

As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of our team that designs, establishes and operates our new facilities for rocket motor tests and orbital launches. During establishment phase, you will be part of our Spaceport project team, working on a variety of work packages. Over time, more specialized engineering roles will be needed, such as vehicle- and payload integration engineers, propellant-, mechanical-, inflight systems- and communication engineers. In the operational phase, you will be part of the launch team and continue to develop all supporting systems needed for our services. You will work in close collaborations with our customers, with emphasis on understanding our customer’s needs. This role will aim toward a RF skillset as your main responsibility is overseeing items relating to Telemetry, Tracking and Command. The role has a certain level of flexibility depending on aptitude, interest and current need in the organisation.

 

WHO YOU ARE

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Your main focus will be on work in an innovative project to develop and test a new pre-operational data service for SSC. Here you will be part of a fast-paced multidisciplinary team and play a core role designing, developing and testing software systems for a dynamic and highly flexible optical ground network for data distribution.

Upon completion of this project, you will help transition the pre-operational service into SSC’s portfolio. You will then work on development projects enabling SSC to consolidate and unify production systems and environments based on industry best practice. You will integrate business intelligence systems to accommodate cost effective, agile, secure and robust services to meet the demands of existing as well as new customers. This includes supporting SSC in software development in areas such as digitalization, automation and standardization based on modularized secure system architecture.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of our team that designs, establishes and operates our new facilities for rocket motor tests and orbital launches. During establishment phase, you will be part of our Spaceport project team, working on a variety of work packages. Over time, more specialized engineering roles will be needed, such as vehicle- and payload integration engineers, propellant-, mechanical-, inflight systems- and communication engineers. In the operational phase, you will be part of the launch team and continue to develop all supporting systems needed for our services. You will work in close collaborations with our customers, with emphasis on understanding our customer’s needs. This role will aim toward a RF skillset as your main responsibility is overseeing items relating to Telemetry, Tracking and Command. The role has a certain level of flexibility depending on aptitude, interest and current need in the organisation.

 

WHO YOU ARE

You are a service minded person, thorough and work well with people. You can manage irregular hours, long shifts and travel to the test sites during campaigns.

• a university degree or corresponding experience in electronics or physics specializing in RF

As the Head of Geospatial Services you will have a key role within SSC New Ventures leading the established GlobalTrust Ltd company in the UK, together with creating a GlobalTrust presence in Sweden (initially from within SSC and transferring to a Swedish GlobalTrust legal entity in the future). One of our key missions is to drive sustainability innovation around satellite data, and we're actively looking for a knowledgeable, connected and pro-active CEO to create and operate the GlobalTrust companies in a professional manner, but also to drive the businesses forward in way that continually considers the need to embed the organization in new markets.

 

Main Tasks

As Head of Geospatial Services, you will have day-to-day responsibility for the whole GlobalTrust Ltd business and its success in both Sweden and the UK. Your duties and responsibilities shall be those normally associated with the function and position of CEO. Key activities and responsibilities include (but are not limited too):


• The management of the operations of a company as well as setting its overall vision including Pivotal decision making affecting the future of a company and its employees
• Overseeing all operations including product development, logistics and marketing
• Developing and approving strategies for the company as well as communicating these strategies to an internal and external audiences.
• Regular report to the Board and various other SSC key individuals
