The role involves a mix of technical challenges, innovative thinking, support/operations, and stakeholder management. You will be at the heart of our IT infrastructure, responsible for making strategic decisions that influence the performance and scalability of our cloud services.
The IT Operations team is responsible for delivering all aspects of IT services to our stakeholders. Hence, all team members are T-shaped which means you will also be challenged with a range of other IT and Enterprise IT tasks, every day contains a mix of support and engineering.

What Will Your Role Include?
Your first 3-6 months will focus on understanding our existing cloud infrastructure and identifying areas for improvement. You will:
Provide excellent customer support by effectively analyzing and prioritizing incidents, ensuring quick and accurate resolution of issues.
Utilize a high level of emotional intelligence to understand the impact of IT issues on the business and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Diagnose incidents with a strong focus on business priorities and take appropriate action.
Engage in the deployment, management, and operational support of our Microsoft Azure environment.
Work with Entra, Intune, Sentinel, Defender, and other Azure platform services to ensure a secure and robust infrastructure.
Collaborate with the development team to architect cloud-native solutions that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
Contribute to the operations of critical IT infrastructure e.g. office/on-prem IT, Google Workspace, network (Fortinet)
Contribute to the automation and continuous improvement of our cloud deployment and operations processes.

Technical Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you will need:
A minimum of three years of experience in IT operations, with a proven track record in supporting and managing complex IT environments.
A customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Strong incident analysis and prioritization skills, with the ability to make decisions that reflect the business's needs.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a focus on business outcomes.
Broad general experience in data communication and relevant Microsoft applications.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services, Azure Networking, and Azure Security
Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages such as Azure CLI, PowerShell, or Terraform.
Familiarity with cloud-native architecture principles and microservices.

Your mission
We are looking for a data scientist with experience in decision science, analytics, and/or business intelligence - able to improve and extend our Impact platform.
With your background and experience, you’ll be the driving force behind building the foundational data science analytical culture at Extenda Retail. And by doing so help us in becoming a leading Data Science driven company offering services and solutions using Machine Learning Technology to derive value from retailers assets; today’s ever-increasing data pool.
You will work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions. also take on Data Engineering tasks or any other tasks as well, to turn the projects you are involved in, into success stories.
Responsibilities
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to datasets.
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results to the clients and stakeholders.
Build production-level analytics deliverables using Python, , Tensor flow, Kubernetes.
Deploy and monitor your code in our Google Cloud environment.
Promote data science tools and technologies of your choice.
Be an advisor to the company on Data Security.
Be an AI/ML advocate.

Skills and requirements
4+ years of industry experience in data science with a proven track record in complex and demanding projects and solutions.
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, etc.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Professional experience in working with large, complex data sets (Big Data) from data processing to using mathematical techniques to build a predictive model.
Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Power BI, Tableau, Periscope, D3, ggplot, etc.
Technically capable across a range of technologies (Python, R, , etc.).
Experience working with big data frameworks (HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive, ..etc.). and/or Cloud (e.g. Azure or Google) and/or Elasticsearch Stack is a big plus.
Experience working with Anomaly Detection or Time Series Analysis is a plus.
Google Cloud Platform and services
Strong experience with building analytics in scalable and production-level stacks and microservices.
Big plus relevant experience within the retail/e-commerce/marketing sector and/or having a background as a Data Engineer.
Fluent in English, verbal, and writing.
Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification or similar is a plus
